Death Eater Daiquiri

Buckle up, kids. Things are about to get SPOOKY around here.  Every year, when the kids get high on sugar and run around threatening our neighbors, I usually accompany them and drink. 

This is the American dream.

And this year, I'll have the perfect cup o' fright in hand. THE DEATH EATER DAIQUIRI. 

This sip of black rum, pomegranate liqueur, and a splash of sparkling pomegranate juice not only looks like witch's brew but will leave you spellbound with its complexity.

If you've never had black rum before, it's time to branch out. Black rum has higher molasses content and pairs well with any fruit flavor. Top with pomegranate seeds for a flair of drama that'll have you feeling positively fiendish.

Wondering about that blood rimmed glass? Don't worry scaredy-pants. It's just corn syrup and red food coloring gel. Mix some together, dip the rim, and let it run down the sides for a grotesque glass that'll have you bellying up to the bar for more. 

Death Eater Daiquiri

2 oz. black rum

1 oz. pomegranate liqueur

4 oz. sparkling pomegranate juice

Pomegranate seeds

Combine rum, liqueur, and juice in shaker with ice. Shake, strain and serve with seeds. Sip and savor the spookiness.
